MEET THE TEAM
We are a team of twelve students with nine researchers, two vice chairs, and a chair. Our focuses lie within data collection, survey promotion, analysis, and report writing. The committee is made up of folks of different backgrounds, majors, and interests. Get to know a little bit more about us!
Chair and Vice Chairs

Jahanvi Narwal, Chair
Jahanvi is an Economics and Statistics double major. She joined the Research and Data Committee to apply her skills in data analysis and report writing to inform better, more holistic decision making within ASUCD. She hopes that her work as a Researcher can serve UC Davis by providing meaningful insights about the needs, experiences, and opinions of the UC Davis student body and community. In her free time, Jahanvi enjoys working out, being outdoors, reading, and spending quality time with her loved ones.

Amanda Li, Vice Chair of External Affairs
Amanda is a first-year majoring in Data Science. She joined the Research and Data Committee to support data-driven decisions that will improve the student experience at UC Davis. She wants to amplify student opinions and experiences and ensure that they are heard in decision-making.

Jeremy Elvander, Vice Chair of Internal Affairs
Jeremy is a first-year Data Science major. He joined the research and data committee to make a positive impact on campus through his interest in statistics.
Researchers

Cindy Nguyen
Cindy is a second-year English major.
"I joined to learn more about the data that can drive policy decisions on our campus and learn about student opinions! And also, because I think it could be a fun experience."

Freddie Kiessling
Freddie is a first-year majoring in Data Science.
"I joined the Research and Data Committee because I am interested in applying my data science skills to real world applications, as well as being apart of the ASUCD Research team, and making new friends!"
Hannah Wen
Hannah is a first-year majoring in Data Science.
"I joined R&DC because I am very interested in data and research and wanted to get involved with UCD."

Jay Callavaro
Jay is a 2nd-year Managerial Economics major.
"I joined this committee to learn some new skills and to use statistics in order to help certain committees better understand the student population."

Maya Wiegand
Maya is a first-year majoring in Quantitative Psychology.
"I joined this committee to connect student opinions with campus officials and hear from students how they can be most supported by our campus."

Nikita Dutt
Nikita is a first-year Computer Science and Engineering major.
"I joined R&DC because I am interested in using student opinions to create change on our school campus, and I want to implement and improve my research skills."

Nitin Kanchi
Nitin is a first-year majoring in Data Science.
"The reason why I chose to join the R&DC is because I believe I have skills in the field of data and I would like to use these skills to help out my peers."

Suranjana Sooraj
Suranjana is a first-year Data Science major.
"I have experience working with data for internships before, and strongly believe that R&DC is a space where I can showcase my skills, learn from peers with similar interests, and become a part of a community that works towards having the voice of the general body be heard."

Trenton Artica
Trenton is junior majoring in Mathematical Analytics and Operations Research.
"I joined R&DC because I was heavily interested in research. I also wanted to get hands-on experience while being able to give back to my community by helping build a better UC Davis through research and data."
